The Hopeful One Jeanette Billionaire Bride Pact Romance Book 6 edition by Jeanette Lewis Lucy McConnell Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

  • This book is not like so many of the fluffy sweet romance books so readily available but it has substance and tells the love story of Nikki and Darrin whose honeymoon period seemed to last a long time until they faced a great loss. The title of the book, The Hopeful One, is quite appropriate for even though the pain that is experienced by the characters in the book seems very raw, their love for one another holds and there is a thread of hope beneath all of their hurt. I am a fan of this author and have enjoyed many of her other books but this one was a cut above. Highly recommend!
  • Short story of a couple who have been married three years and suffer everyone tragedy. In the aftermath, he is struggling to keep his company afloat and she is drowning in a sea of depression. They both shut each other out in their grief and problems. In the end they find out the secret to a good marriage is loving unconditionally. At first I thought oh no, he's younger turn to another woman but he doesn't. His business partner sounds like a total moron and no wonder the company was hurting. He was an idiot. The Mother in Law was a little too pretentious and treated the hero with disdain. The rest of the characters were in and out fast but I would like to read about them. I thought the premise of the series was a little shallow and odd so I definitely need to go back and read prior books so I can understand it better. Safe and in KU. New author for me and I will re-read her again. This book only took me 30 or 40 minutes to read so it is pretty short. Still an enjoyable read.
  • I LOVED this book! The Hopeful One takes a look at AFTER the wooing and the wedding. We get to see love in action AFTER the Honeymoon. Love is a choice, as Nikki and Darrin discover. This is a beautifully written story about struggling through heartbreak and finding the joy of the For Better or Worse. You get to see what it means, ‘Forsaking all others’. I’m not going to give any spoilers, just a heads up to have tissues handy! I’m not kidding-it was SO beautiful watching Nikki and Darrin show their love for each other at the end. (NOT a spoiler ;-) you KNEW there would be a HEA!) This is a book with Soul, be prepared to walk away wanting to be a better version of yourself. I hope that I can be a wise, loving, and encouraging friend like Taylor is to Nikki.

*I received a complimentary copy of the book, which I voluntarily reviewed. I have given my honest opinion.
  • I received a complimentary copy of the Hopeful One. But am freely leaving a review.

Wow a great story. Nikki and Darrin are living the life. But then things fall apart. Their communication wasn't good and they both were struggling with the grief of loss. Darrin didn't talk about his feelings as he tried to keep her together and his floundering business. She felt shut out. So she goes to friends for a few days to only realize that she had not been there for Darrin. Darrin starts to go to where Nikki was to realize that she was already in his office. A great story. So often in the grief, marriages fall apart. But was great to see that they worked it out and their marriage was stronger than ever. Life is not a fairy tale with happily ever after endings. It takes work to make a marriage great and then marriage is a beautiful thing.
  • This story is the real thing. Nikki and Darrin are living the dream, but when she has a miscarriage and his business is floundering their happily ever after becomes not so happy. What they lack is communication, he is afraid to tell her about the business she is depressed about her miscarriage. It takes a couple of days apart, and her good friends to open their eyes that love can be hard and it is an action. That bad times should bring you closer and to not be afraid to share your feelings. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
  • The thing I liked best is the believable characters and unfairytale situation they are in. It is refreshing to read a story that isn't all "happily ever after." Even as an unmarried reader with nothing in common with Nikki, I was able to understand and identify with her tragedy and recovery. There could be some triggers in this book for women who have suffered trauma. A few times I had to put the book down and gather my thoughts before I could go on. I was given an advance copy of this book for review.
  • Nikki and Darrin suffer the same loss but respond in different ways. My husband and I went through the same experience many years ago and early in our marriage. This one was sad for me because it brought up the heartache but it also made me see how truly different men and women handle this. The author did a great job of making me feel their emotions and struggles. Nikki has great friends who pointed back to Darrin and her love for him. Sometimes talking and truly experiencing how we truly feel is difficult even with our spouse. Loved the ending. Another great one in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
  • I've been waiting for this story for a while and it did not disappoint. I loved that it was different than the other books in the series as it's mostly about their life after marriage. What a great title, we can all use a little hope in our lives. This story is about true love, but it also addresses real life issues and I loved that. Sometimes reading is an escape, other times it is nice to read about real issues.
